On this day, devotees of Lord Krishna visit the Banke Bihari temple in Mathura, Dwarkadhish and Vrindavan for special darshan of Lord Krishna. There is a Phool Bungalow in the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, which is very famous among the devotees. On the day of Hariyali Amavasya, apart from Krishna temples, special Shiva darshan is arranged in various Shiva temples.


The day of Hariyali Amavasya is dedicated to the ancestors. On this day the worshipers should wake up early and take a bath. After this, worship should be done to please their ancestors, as well as special food should be made for the Brahmins. Apart from this, worshipers also worship Lord Shiva on this day and take blessings of wealth and prosperity. Apart from this, chanting eight mantras dedicated to Lord Shiva is also considered very auspicious. Special rituals are organized in the temples of Lord Shiva on this day. On the day of Hariyali Amavasya, the sun should rise in the morning at Brahmamuhurta. After this one should worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shankar after taking bath and meditating. The married women should worship Goddess Parvati by taking vermilion and distribute the suhaag material. It is said that if a married woman distributes green bangles, vermilion, bindi, then her marriage will have a long life and also bring prosperity in the house. However, men can also offer bangles, sweets, etc. to women for the purpose of good luck.

If you give any gift, you should take special care of the time. If this work is done before noon, it will be very good. Devotees should worship Peepal and Tulsi trees on the day of Hariyali Amavasya. as well as circumambulation Taxes and Malpua should be made as an offering. In our religious texts, the abode of God is also mentioned in mountains, trees and plants. On the basis of this, the trinity is believed to be abode in the Peepal tree. The Amla tree itself is believed to be the abode of Lord Shri Laxminarayan. These trees should be worshipped. If you fast on this day, then you should break the fast in the evening itself. By the way, there are many stories about it in different parts of the country. But let us tell you the most popular story. In ancient times, one had a son. One day his wife ate sweets stealthily and on being asked lied and accused the mouse. Hearing this, the mouse got very angry and resolved to bring the real thief in front of the king.

One day some guests came to the king’s place. The king accommodated them with respect in the guest house. To avenge his insult, the mouse decided to teach a lesson to the daughter-in-law of the king. The mouse brought some of the daughter-in-law’s clothes to the guest’s room. When the daughter-in-law’s clothes were found in the guest room in the morning, all kinds of things started happening. On coming to know about this, the king threw the daughter-in-law out of the house.

There was a tree near the house, which was worshipped by many women including the daughter-in-law of the king, and used to distribute prasad of guddhani while worshipping. One day the king was passing by when he heard a voice talking about the lamps placed near the tree. When the king went to him, all the lamps had oil and were burning. But a lamp was extinguished. When other lamps asked him why you were not put oil, he said that I am the lamp of the king’s house. His daughter-in-law used to offer me oil. But, the daughter-in-law once ate sweets and took the name of the mouse. When the mouse got angry, the queen’s clothes were kept in the guest’s room, then the king threw her out of the house. Since then no one comes here to worship. Hearing this, the king felt sorry and called his daughter-in-law back and his daughter-in-law’s house was settled again.
