God was kind enough to create this beautiful world with lots and lots of different things with a vast array of colours.
As soon as one gets up in the morning one can experience different hues of red and blue in the eastern horizon. If one spends some time observing nature, flora and fauna around, dazzling with colours and a little bird chirping with joy at the time of dawn, announcing to the world dawn of a new day which brings new hope and joy, it will be a spiritual experience.
Man observed and imitated this. So, while creating a designer garment or a national symbol or a flag, colours became a handy tool to express what a nation stands for.
National Flag of India
India’s National Flag
India became independent on 14 / 15th of August 1947. A great deal of thinking went in choosing the colours of the Flag of the newly born nation. Freedom fighters and people in general spent a considerable time deliberating on colours and symbols to be adopted. The design of the National Flag of India was adopted by India’s constituent assembly on 22nd July, 1947.
The Indian flag is a horizontal Tri-colour in equal proportion of deep saffron on the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom. In the middle it has a Chakra (wheel) in navy blue colour.
What does the colours, symbols and state of affairs indicate?
First colour in the flag is saffron. Saffron represents knowledge, courage, sacrifice and the spirit of renunciation.
White represents purity and truth, freedom of expression, tolerance and moderation.
Green represents faith and fertility, wealth and development. Mercury’s green colour also indicates the prosperity and richness that the country wishes to achieve through natural resources and commercial activities. India was a farming and trade oriented country as represented by Green colour.
In the centre of the white band, there is a wheel in navy blue to indicate the Dharma Chakra, the wheel of law . This center symbol or the ‘CHAKRA’ has 24 spokes which intend to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.
This Chakra may represent desire to rule everywhere around the world, Eka chakradipathya, to become super power. Chakra is in blue colour with White Backdrop.
White signifies peace and blue signifies stability, persistence which signifies growth in a respectable way. Chakra signifies keeping things in ‘momentum’.
Dharma Chakra in Navy blue fortifies all these basic principles which were practised and were originated in India.
However, there are certain negative significations.
In the flag there is a combination of Green ruled by Mercury and White ruled by Moon.
As per Vedic astrology a combination of Mercury and Weak Moon is considered as inauspicious. Moon rules mind. If Moon is afflicted it represents psychosis. Perpetual crisis due to fickle minded rulers. Constant trends of hypocrisy, paranoid people and religion being used for petty politicking, bigotry are symbolized in the flag.
The only redeeming factor in case of Indian flag is Saffron colour and Dharma Chakra.
Looking at the way India has progressed in past 61 years and is being recognised by the developed countries of the world, the challenges it is facing from within and from neighbours – If any one has doubts whether Colours do play a vital role in deciding destiny of a nation, the reasons must be amply clear now.Talk to our astrologer Now.
